How to process a shipment in Ship window

You can process a shipment starting from the ship window if the user will be using a specific carrier and service without obtaining a quote before processing the shipment or if the shipping charges will be paid by someone else besides the user’s account.


Fill out the standard details for a shipment. This includes the “SHIP FROM” address, “SHIP TO” address, and “SHIPMENT DETAILS” (Piece Qty, Package Type, Dims and Weight).



*Note*  If you have integration with your ERP/Accounting System, WMS or other order system, when entering the order number, most and in some cases, all the information required to get a quote can auto populate. See the INTEGRATIONS GUIDE for details.





- SHIP TO ADDRESS OPTIONS: You can search our address field using our connection to Google Maps. Also, you can Click “Form” icon to the right of the address search field and populate each field at a time. Lastly, You can use the “Address Book” icon and select an address from your address book.



- SHIPMENT DETAILS:  When entering the Length, Width, Height and Weight, FreightPOP will auto calculate the freight class based on the shipment density. You can choose to use that or change if needed. Add lines if you have more pieces with in a shipment.


*Note* If you do not populate the Length, Width and Height your quote may not be accurate and some carriers may not respond with a quote.


-PRODUCT DETAILS: This is only required if you are shipping an international shipment in order to send this info to customs.





-CARRIER:  Select the carrier, service and who pays the freight charges. If the recipient or 3rd party are paying the charges, you may need their account number. Each carrier required something different.  





Upon clicking “Ship It”, you will receive the tracking numbers from the carrier and your shipping labels if you are using a parcel carrier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS) or the BOL if you are using a truckload or LTL carriers to be printed.. If you are using an international Air or Ocean Freight Forwarder you can print the SLI.


In the shipment details window after processing the shipment you have the following options:


1. Email someone a link to print shipping labels and BOL.


2. Schedule a pick up if you did not schedule it during the shipping process


3. Add notes to later view.


4. Cancel a shipment
