How To Schedule a Pickup

 

From the Ship or Quote page, once you have entered your shipment details and have selected your carrier, there will be a Schedule Pickup field to the right of the screen.


If you have selected a non-API carrier, the Carrier Pickup Request field will be displayed. The pickup contact uploaded for carrier from the Carrier Management page will auto populate. If a pickup contact has not been entered an email can be entered manually. 


Note: You will not see this field if you have selected a carrier connected directly via API.

 

 

Enter your Pickup Date, Ready Time and Cutoff Time. For API connected carriers, the Delivery Date will auto populate based on the transit days returned by the carrier. For non-API connected carriers, the date can be updated manually. If you know the recipient’s hours of operation or your shipment has a delivery deadline, enter the delivery window into the Open Time and Close Time fields. A message for the carrier can be added by clicking the Add Message button. It will be displayed in the pickup request email.


 

Upon Clicking Ship It, a pickup request email containing a link will be generated and sent to the pickup contact or email address entered into the Carrier Pickup Request Email field.


 

 

The carrier will be directed to a FreightPOP portal where the shipment can be accepted or denied. The quote can also be edited if it does not look accurate.


If a PRO has not been assigned, the carrier can upload one upon accepting the shipment.


The shipper will receive an email notification of the carrier’s response.
