Carrier Mapping

Carrier Mappings is intended to allow customers to translate their ERP/WMS shipping codes into FreightPOP usable actions (carriers and services). What this means is that a user can pre-define the shipping Carrier, Service, and even Payee in their ERP/WMS and map it to have FreightPOP pre-fill the shipping options to match.

In the integration, the mapping normally uses the internal IDs from the ERP/WMS. What does this mean? In an ERP/WMS, the user may see a shipping method or carrier called FedEx, but on the backend of the ERP/WMS, that may have an ID of 15544. The mapping uses that backend ID.

Example of how the mapping works: The ERP may have a carrier or shipping method called FedEx-Ground that has an ID of 14545. The carrier mapping tool would map ID 14545 to the FreightPOP carrier called FedEx and the service called Ground.

There are two prerequisites before a user can effectively map their carrier codes.

  1. Users must first add their carriers / connect their Carriers to FreightPOP.
  2. Users must know what the shipping codes from their ERP/WMS are.

Once the carriers have been added to FreightPOP and the user knows the carrier IDs from the ERP/WMS, the user can then begin configuration.

To start the mapping, the user will need to navigate to the Integrations window via the settings menu.

From the integrations page, select the system that needs to be mapped if there are multiple systems connected. https://app.freightpop.com/InventorySystems.html

To start the mapping for the correct system, click on the sprocket of the system to have the mappings updated.

Once in the mapping page, you can click on the Edit button to edit a current mapping, click on the Delete button to delete a mapping or click on the “Add Item” on the top right to add a new mapping.

If in the FreightPOP carriers you have multiple of the same carrier account but one for each of your locations, but in your ERP/WMS you only use one code no matter the location, select the first one always.
