The NMFC can be found within the Product & Packaging → NMFC tab.
What is an NMFC?
NMFC stands for National Motor Freight Classification. It is a standardized system used in the freight shipping industry to classify commodities for less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping. The NMFC assigns a freight class to goods based on factors such as:
Density (weight-to-volume ratio)
Stowability (how easily it can be stored/stacked)
Handling (special requirements for loading/unloading)
Liability (risk of damage or theft)
Each product is given an NMFC code, which helps determine shipping rates and ensures uniform pricing across carriers.
This tab displays the user’s saved NMFCs.
Edit: Users can edit an NMFC by clicking the pencil icon on the right.
