Error: Invalid destination city/state/zip


When rate shopping or processing a shipment, you may encounter this error, "(Carrier Name): Invalid destination city/state/zip"

If this error occurs, we can identify the misinformation by following the below steps.

1. Open the "Ship-To" address form to inspect the City name, Zip Code, or State.

2. Cross reference the entered information with a Google search. Be on the look-out for any typos. For this example, the information above and carrier YRC will be used.


3. If no typos in the City name, State, or Zip code, check the carrier website using the same information. Most carriers will have a zip or address validation tool.



4. Upon checking the search results, look for any discrepancies between the result and the information in the address form.




5. In this example the special character "-" in the city name is not valid with the carrier. The destination state, city, and zip code is entered in the same format as the carrier. Remove the "-" in the "Ship-To" form and save.




6. Once saved, click refresh rates to view quotes from the desired carrier.
